What is
testing?
Testing means on-circuit evaluation of race-prepared vehicles.
Timing is allowed, unlike a trackday.
Permitted Noise
Levels?
All race prepared vehicles must conform to the more stringent
(whether in terms of noise level or method of measurement) of (a)
the current Governing Body's silencing regulations; and (b) MSV's
silencing levels set out below:
Cars (saloon and sports cars) - 105dB(A)
Sports Racing Cars (enclosed wheel) -
108dB(A)
Single-seater open-wheel cars - 108dB(A)
Unsilenced
Vehicles?
Outside of a specific, advertised 'Unsilenced Test Day', unless
the guest has obtained MSV's prior specific consent to such use,
the use of unsilenced vehicles is completely prohibited at MSV
venues.
What vehicles are
allowed?
Race prepared cars complying with current MSA standards. Road cars
are not allowed.
What licence do I
need?
Adult drivers :-
Participants in car test sessions must be aged 16 years or older
and hold a current FIA/MSA or such other licence as may be
recognised by the relevant governing bodies, and produce the
original (not a photocopy) complete licence for inspection by MSV.
All licences must be Race, not Non Race.
For young drivers :-
Drivers under the age of 18 shall be permitted to participate in
on-circuit activity provided that:
(a) such driver's parent or legal guardian has
signed and completed the relevant section of the registration form;
and
(b) in the case of drivers under the age of 16,
each driver holds a Junior Championship MSA licence appropriate to
the vehicle he/she intends to use (at present these are restricted
to Junior Ginettas and Fiesta Juniors). Any test session involving
drivers under the age of 16 must be exclusive to such drivers;
and
(c) in the case of drivers aged 16 or 17, such
driver holds an MSA licence appropriate to the vehicle he/she
intends to use
Do I need to book in
advance?
To guarantee your place on an event you do need to book in
advance. If you have already made a booking for an event and want
to add an additional driver or garage, please contact the circuit
directly.
What happens if the
weather is poor?
It is very rare that we will have to cancel an event due to
adverse weather conditions. Testing takes place if it is raining
and it's a great opportunity to advance your wet weather driving
skills.
Will garages be
available on the day?
Garages are available on most days from Brands Hatch, Oulton Park
and Snetterton. They can often be reserved online in advance for a
fee. Please see the booking page of your test day for further
details.
Will there be catering
facilities on site?
There are catering facilities present at all of our events where
breakfast, lunch and teas and coffees etc. are available.
All vehicles participating in a MotorSport Vision test day
must comply with our noise silencing levels.
Should your championship regulations permit your vehicle to run
above our published limits you must contact the relevant circuit
before you finalise your booking.
