MotorSport Vision Trackdays
Sessioned Trackdays

A sessioned trackday allows for a group of track drivers of different abilities to book onto the same day. A typical event will be split into novice, intermediate and advanced groups where each group will receive 20 minutes in each hour on circuit.

Typical Day
- Signing On
- Signing of indemnity forms, checking of driving licences and allocation of instruction sessions.
- Safety Briefing
- This will cover everything you need to know about the day from rules of a trackday, through to car preparation, driving techniques and circuit information.
- Track Time Begins
- Circuit time is split into 20-minute sessions and normally starts with the advanced group. This would mean that if circuit time starts at 9am the the advanced group will go out at 9am followed by the intermediate group at 9:20am and the novices at 9:40am. This format then repeats throughout the day.
- Lunch
- On all trackdays there is a one hour lunch break, which will be between 12am and 2pm.
- Afternoon Track Time Begins
- This commences once again with the advanced track day drivers. Some sessioned afternoons are run as an open pit lane because everyone has had the morning on circuit to get up to speed.
- Track Time Ends
- It’s time to head home.
Which group should I book into?
- Novices
- You have never done / done 2 or 3 trackdays before.
- Intermediate
- You have done a few trackdays before and now know what a trackday is all about. You are confident about being on circuit with other drivers who have also done trackdays before.
If you have an exceptionally fast car like a Radical for example, but you have not done trackdays before, then this group may also be suitable. Likewise, if you have done a lot of trackday before but have a slow vehicle then this group would also be appropriate.
- Advanced
- You have completed many trackdays before and are a competent and confident track driver. You are not fazed with being on circuit with other fast vehicles.
On occasion a sessioned trackday may run in a slightly different format to that which is detailed above. On some events, weather and numbers permitting, we may suggest running an open pit lane in the afternoon so everyone can get maximum track time.
As always instructors will be on hand throughout the day to offer advice and one-one in-car tuition, for a small fee.
