25/08/2006 - Bank Holiday Monday's totalkitcar LIVE! at Snetterton will feature plenty of kit cars you can drive on the road, or even road cars you can race, but what about one that's a real full-blown racing car?
The Global GT Lights series offers fast racing in Sports Prototype-style cars. The championship has always been well-supported with grids of up to 30 cars, and the series has also been featured in blockbusting video game series ToCA Race Driver! Now, under the control of Graham Hathaway Engineering, the Global GT2 offers even more top performance.
Powered by a 1300cc engine taken from a Suzuki GSR motorbike, the GT2 is the latest and fastest iteration of a very successful series of sports machines. Weighing in at a miniscule 450 kilos, the cars hits 60mph from standing in just 3.3 seconds and goes on through its six-speed sequential gearbox to 140mph.
The best part of the GT2 is the fact that is has two seats! GHE is currently working on modifying the GT2 to make it fully UK road-legal, which would put it right up amongst the leading makers of Roadsport racing machines. The second seat also means that you can experience the thrill of the GT2 on one of the UK's fastest circuits for yourself by taking a passenger ride at totalkitcar LIVE!
Tickets to totalkitcar LIVE! at Snetterton on August Bank Holiday will cost £10 per adult. Visitors arriving in a kit-car will be able to take advantage of a special entry price of £5 and central VIP parking.
