Manufacturers

Honda
Honda powered James Toseland to his second WSB title last season and this year they have former MotoGP rider Carlos Checa in the saddle of the HANNspree liveried Fireblade. In his debut season Checa has already won races for the Japanese manufacturer, taking a double win at Miller Motorsports Park. Honda took a double win at Brands Hatch last season and will be hoping for similar success in 2008, especially with double British Superbike Champion Ryuichi Kiyonari on the second green and white machine.
Ducati
Ducati are without doubt the most successful manufacturer in WSB history and with 15 world titles already to their name the Italian manufacturer is hoping that Troy Bayliss can add another title in his final WSB season. Ducati have won titles with Carl Fogarty, Troy Corser, James Toseland and Neil Hodgson. Bayliss has shattered the lap record on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in the past and with the new Ducati 1098 he will want to leave here on a high.
Suzuki
The Suzuki is a proven race winner and with Fonsi Nieto, Max Neukirchner and Yukio Kagayama onboard the chances are there will be an Alstare liveried machine on the podium at Brands Hatch. Suzuki have not won a world title since 2005 with Troy Corser, but Neukirchner has shown promise this season so there is no reason why they can’t be at the front when it comes to raceday.
Yamaha
The third Japanese manufacturer has arguably two of the strongest WSB contenders in the team for 2008 with Noriyuki Haga and Troy Corser, already a double champion. The pair are back with the same team as last season and Corser is another rider that has strong results at Brands Hatch. Can Haga do the double for the UK fans who salute the Japanese aces’ flamboyant riding style?
Kawasaki
Kawasaki last won a world title back in 1993 with Scott Russell, but with Regis Laconi still going strong for the green team he could mix up the top ten at Brands Hatch. The Frenchman is joined this season by Makoto Tamada who brings a wealth of experience to the team having tasted victory in MotoGP.
