05/02/2010 - Tom Chilton is confident of securing BTCC race victories in 2010 after a positive test for the Team Aon squad at the Guadix circuit in Spain.
Chilton completed two days of running in one of the team's Focus STs and believes that the car is now capable of regular race wins when the season begins in April.
"Some of the things we tested were designed to improve overall performance and some were aimed at improving drivability," said Chilton. "The good news is that some of the things the team did actually improved both. I would say that it was a very succsessful few days."
Ford are the most successful manaufacturer in the history of the BTCC but a car with the blue oval hasn't won a race in the series since 2000, but Chilton is confident that this barren spell is set to end in 2010.
"I have to say though that if I had the car as it is now, I honestly feel we could score our first win, so I'm very encouraged and looking forward to the new season."
