Field of Lotuses for Brands Hatch finale
Inaugural endurance event closes racing season
|
06/11/2009 - Brands Hatch is gearing up for its final racing event of the season this Saturday (14 November), the inaugural Lotus Endurance Saturday.
The highlight of the event will be a 100 minute endurance race from the Lotus on Track Elise Trophy. This is the first time the MSVR-supported series has run an endurance event, and the race will be open to solo entries, teams of two drivers in one vehicle, or two cars competing in a relay format under the same name but driving separate machinery.
With twelve different winners from its sprint racing season, there are a number of drivers that are capable of victory in the maiden endurance event.
Amongst the front-runners is double Brands Hatch race winner Jamie Stanley, who was most recently seen coaching BBC F1 anchorman Jake Humphrey during his motor racing debut in the Elise Trophy.
In addition to the 100 minute Lotus race, there will also be action from the Victor Meldrew Trophy, Cannons Tin Top Saloons and the Intermarque series - where West Kingsdown driver Rod Birley will be pursuing his 501st career victory.
Although Lotus Endurance Saturday is the last racing event on the 2009, Brands Hatch will host RaceCar Live! on 21/22 November.
Advance adult tickets for Lotus Endurance Saturday at Brands Hatch on Saturday 14 November cost from £10, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more details call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
