02/11/2009 - This Saturday (7th November), Brands Hatch will play host to the Britcar 'Into the Night' Race - the only event to be held under the night sky at the Kent circuit in 2009.
The Britcar endurance series features a wide range of production cars, including Ferraris, Moslers and Porsches, competing over a timed distance. This Saturday's race will be held over 90 minutes, due to start at 4.55pm, and a large grid of cars is expected.
At last year's race, the Mosler of Michael and Sean McInerney held off a spirited challenge from Paul Drayson and Jonny Cocker's Aston Martin to win by just over two seconds after more than 100 laps of racing in the GT class. Michael and Sean will be returning to Brands Hatch this Saturday looking to secure back-to-back victories at the Kent circuit. Class One leaders Mark Sumpter and Adrian Slater will be the most likely challengers to the McInerneys in their Porsche 911 RSR.
The Production Class will see a titanic battle between the BMW M3 of championship leaders Kevin Clarke and Wayne Gibson and the Honda Civic of Richard Adams and David Green. Just one point separates the two teams as they arrive at the Kent circuit, with the winner of the race also set to take the 2009 Production Class title.
There will also be racing from the Ma5da MX5 Winter Trophy and the Britsport Masters Winter Series.
Advance adult tickets for the Britcar 'Into the Night' Race cost £10 with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
