Race Car Live is back - and bigger!

Innovative event moves to November after exhibitor feedback

11/02/2005 - The second running of MotorSport Vision's innovative new motorsport show Race Car Live has been moved forward by one week to Saturday, November 26 after feedback from exhibitors at last year's hugely successful inaugural event.

MotorSport Vision created RCL last year to allow UK car racing championships the chance to demonstrate their cars to prospective competitors on the famous Brands Hatch Indy circuit. The unique show also allowed drivers the chance to 'try before you buy', testing some cars before deciding in which series to race in 2005. The event's debut was a big success, with a packed circuit of exhibitors and hundreds of members of the public visiting the show.

Exhibitors felt that a slightly earlier date would be beneficial, and Race Car Live 05 will now also avoid a clash with the PRI motorsport industry show in America.

Race Car Live 05 will also expand significantly, with a second day being added on Sunday, November 27 to allow much more track time for drivers to test and evaluate different cars and winter series races. It will also be a much larger affair, with even more series expected to exhibit and a new covered area for motorsport accessory trade and engineering stands.

Last year, almost every national racing discipline was represented, from grassroots racing to the top end of UK championships. Race car manufacturers were also strongly represented, with marques such as Radical, Caterham and Global GT Lights in static and on-track displays. And despite the growth of Race Car Live 05, MotorSport Vision has frozen the cost of garages for exhibitors at last years price of £865+VAT.

MotorSport Vision Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said: "I was delighted that our initiative was well received from the outset, despite very short lead times last year. We invited and received detailed feedback and have incorporated this into Race Car Live 05. As with any business venture, success comes from providing what our customers want at a price that makes sense.

"With a whole season's lead time and the confidence of knowing our inaugural event worked so well, Race Car Live 05 will be bigger and better. And crucially, at exactly the same price! There is no question that the garages will be oversubscribed, and we will be selecting represented series very carefully."
