26/07/2004 - The BMW team of Harry Handkammer and ex-British Touring Car ace David Leslie triumpged in the Britcar Endurance race on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on Saturday.
The duo, who started from pole position, completed 181 laps, with the second placed squad of Meins/Harrison three laps off the leaders in their similar BMW.
The Ferrari 360 Challenge team of John McCormick and ex-British GT champion Calum Lockie came from the third row of the grid to complete the podium, just one lap behind Meins/Harrison.
Jade Sports Prototype racer Mike Roberts secured victory in the Britsports race, with a 3.7s advantage over second place Halkiopolios/Holley in their Juno SS V6. Third-placed Doug Setters was a lap down on the leading two, but finished in third.
In the second Britsports race, Roberts failed to make it a double podium and finished eighth. The Jade Trackstar duo of Seldon/O'Brien stood on the top step of the podium after completing 55 laps with a clear 19.7s lead over Halkiopolios/Holley in second and Millard/Flux who were a further lap down in third.
The Ford Escort WRC of local ace Rod Birley was dominant in both of the Southern Saloon races. Birley pulled out a clear lead in both of the races ahead of the Ford Escort of Ray Barrow and Francis Butcher in race one and Kevin Clarke and Barrow in race two.
